About Sandra Files
Sandra Files is conductor, pianist, and vocalist in the Baltimore, Maryland area. She has been the Artistic Director of the Bel Air Community Chorus since 2019, after serving as the group’s accompanist and rehearsal pianist since 2015.
Primarily a pianist and vocalist, Sandra also plays the cello, organ, and mallet percussion, and is always looking for a new instrument to learn. She has experience as a solo artist, collaborative pianist, arranger, and church musician in both traditional and contemporary settings, and has ensemble experiencing spanning orchestral, choral, jazz, marching and concert band, and musical theatre groups.
Employing a music theory-based approach to education, Sandra has experience teaching piano and mallet percussion privately. Currently she sings locally as a soprano with the Baltimore Choral Arts Society.
In addition to web content writing and strategy, Sandra has extensive experience in digital marketing, email marketing, and social media management and marketing. She especially enjoys putting these skills to work to help small organizations and nonprofits achieve their goals.
Sandra is a graduate of Grove City College where she double majored in Music (piano concentration) and Communication Studies. She is currently enrolled in the MM Choral Conducting program at Messiah University.
Sandra is a third generation amateur radio operator (KB3SMR) and her broadcasting experience includes WSAJ FM 91.9 (Grove City, PA) where she was a DJ and General Manager, and WJTL FM 90.3 (Lancaster, PA) where she was a weekend DJ. She is a proud sister of the Sigma Delta Phi sorority.
When she’s not on the podium or at a piano, Sandra can be found behind her camera. She and her husband Nathan live with their two cats in the Baltimore county area.
